This sort of analytical look at art by the artist is always very helpful. Both pieces are beautiful, I especially like the top piece with all the costume detail and that it portrays characters interacting outside of a combat scenario.Lance Redhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04655282923859479479noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3438619740844172852.post-7372303239379912332010-10-02T12:32:25.091+01:002010-10-02T12:32:25.091+01:00Tallon: I am pleased that the explanation has prov...Tallon: I am pleased that the explanation has proven useful. I find they crop up in my compositions a lot.

Alex: Thank you.

Sean: Yes, blue is associated with cleanliness and 'healing', and was a deliberate choice in that respect. I also let the swords silhouette stand out clearly against an uncluttered part of the background, whilst the bloody part has the contrast of the dark hair behind it.

ShyDM: That's very kind of you. I love how the troll though obviously dead has still got hold of her leg. I also very much like how the sword and the troll's arm frame the two characters.

Thanks a great deal for providing insight into your painting decisions, it's so helpful.Seanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17860566249304591279noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3438619740844172852.post-58266970105118498632010-10-01T15:34:37.670+01:002010-10-01T15:34:37.670+01:00agreed with Tallon, AMAZING! thank you!agreed with Tallon, AMAZING! thank you!alexhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08545801310953317401noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3438619740844172852.post-11034936042975189022010-10-01T15:20:37.270+01:002010-10-01T15:20:37.270+01:00Great tips Ralph, I also love the details and PoV ...Great tips Ralph, I also love the details and PoV on the second illustration.

Keep up the good work!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12491520248207395278noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3438619740844172852.post-45023905651343539952010-10-01T15:16:00.104+01:002010-10-01T15:16:00.104+01:00I think these are wonderful!
