Postal Treats - World of Warcraft

It is always great to get presents in the post, and better still when they have been FedEx'd all the way from the USA. I just received the latest batch of artists proofs (AKA white-backs) from Blizzard.

Postal Treat

This also means that I can get to share the latest artwork that appeared on these cards with you:

Warning Shot

Forged of Shadow And Flame

Which in turn reminded me of some other outstanding World of Warcraft artwork I can show:

Daze

Stasis

Crystals Of Power

Swift Hand Of Justice

Stakethrower

All paintings are acrylic on board, and ©Blizzard.

  1. These are all awesome! Especially like Warning Shot and Swift Hand of Justice. Really great work! I wish I could figure out how to get acrylic to look as vivid and clean and bright, things seem to be switching from Gaudy to Drab extremes with my painting at the moment.

    Q. Do you use a black, or mix up your own equivalent from other colours?

  2. Thanks for your comment David. I can bump the stauration up a little bit once the image is scanned. That can help with the ibrancy, but the acrylics (Liquitex) I use have a nice vibrancy to them anyway.

I very rarely use black as a base. I normally mix it up from a Burnt Umber and Indanthrene Blue.

  4. A great set of new paintings. I especially like 'Warning Shot' with its upward angle, lighting, and character design.

  7. Daze would have to be my fave since I used to play a Troll rogue. These are great to look at up close, thanks for sharing!
